Market Representation

The QED Program seeks life science and healthcare technologies with market attractiveness, the translational potential of which can be clarified with $200,000 of R&D support over 12 months. QED Program funding is available to scientists at registered participating organizations in two cycles per year (Spring and Fall). In each cycle, proposals are solicited via an RFP mechanism calling for submission of brief White Papers. White Papers are evaluated by the QED Program's team of industry experts and investors, and up to 10 proposals are selected as "Finalists." Each Finalist is invited to prepare a Full Application in collaboration with a QED Program Business Advisor, and to make a formal oral presentation of his/her detailed proposal. Up to three projects are selected for funding per cycle.

In order to determine the scope of the 2009/2010 funding cycles, we are currently soliciting expressions of interest from potential applicants. Although a letter of intent is not required to participate in the Program, indicating your interest by filling out a short survey will help to ensure that your area of research is covered by the RFP topics.

The QED Program will be administered through the Technology Transfer Office of your participating research organization. Please contact them now to discuss your interest in this funding opportunity, as you may need to comply with certain institutional procedures before you are eligible to apply to QED.
